The Principal Consultant leads the clinical practice of Anna Lyse Consultancy and conducts all initial clinical assessments, suitability reviews and therapeutic formulations.
The assessment considers the client’s presenting concerns, relevant history, current functioning, coping strategies, professional pressures, therapeutic goals and any safeguarding or risk considerations.
Anna Lyse Consultancy does not provide psychiatric, medical or neurodevelopmental diagnosis. Where specialist diagnostic assessment appears appropriate, the client may be advised to consult a suitably qualified psychologist, psychiatrist, medical practitioner or specialist service.
Following assessment, the Principal Consultant may:
provide therapy directly
facilitate an introduction to a suitable independent Clinical Associate
recommend an alternative practitioner or specialist service
Introductions depend on the practitioner’s availability, competence, insurance arrangements and suitability for the client’s needs.
Clinical work is informed by an integrative framework drawing selectively from Carl Rogers’ Person-Centred Approach, Self-Determination Theory, compassion-focused principles and trauma-aware therapeutic practice.
These perspectives support clinical formulation and therapeutic planning. They do not replace professional judgement, clinical supervision, appropriate referral or evidence-informed practice.
Collective Professional Standards
Anna Lyse Consultancy may facilitate introductions to independent practitioners from different clinical and healthcare professions.
The identities of practitioners within the wider professional network are not routinely published on the website. However, before any service begins, the client will be informed of the practitioner’s identity, professional role, registration or accreditation, fees and contractual responsibilities.
Each practitioner remains individually accountable to the ethical, professional and regulatory standards applying to their own role and scope of practice.
Depending on the practitioner providing the service, these standards may include those established by:
the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy
the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies
the Health and Care Professions Council
the General Medical Council
the Nursing and Midwifery Council
another recognised professional or regulatory body relevant to the practitioner’s role
Inclusion within this statement does not mean that every framework applies to every practitioner.
Before an introduction is facilitated, Anna Lyse Consultancy considers the practitioner’s:
qualifications
registration or accreditation
relevant professional experience
insurance arrangements
scope of practice
suitability for the client’s needs
Each independent practitioner remains responsible for their own clinical judgement, professional conduct, supervision, record-keeping, confidentiality and insurance.
Where no suitable practitioner is available within the private professional network, an alternative independent professional or specialist service may be recommended.

The Principal Consultant leads the clinical practice of Anna Lyse Consultancy and conducts all initial clinical assessments, suitability reviews and therapeutic formulations.
The practice provides private psychotherapy for adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, workplace pressure, burnout, addiction-related coping, self-criticism, reduced confidence or difficulty maintaining emotional steadiness within demanding environments.
Clinical work is informed by an integrative framework developed by the Principal Consultant. The approach draws selectively from Carl Rogers’ Person-Centred Approach, Self-Determination Theory, compassion-focused principles and trauma-aware therapeutic practice.
These perspectives are applied according to the client’s presentation, needs, level of psychological safety and therapeutic goals.
The framework does not replace established assessment, professional judgement or evidence-informed therapeutic practice.
Anna Lyse Consultancy is committed to safe, ethical and professionally accountable practice.
Alongside private practice, the Principal Consultant has clinical experience within a specialist multidisciplinary addiction service working alongside National Health Service and community healthcare pathways.
This experience informs the practice’s approach to addiction-related coping, complex emotional presentations, safeguarding, elevated psychological risk and appropriate multidisciplinary referral.
Clinical governance includes:
assessment before therapy begins
clear therapeutic agreements
appropriate professional boundaries
regular clinical supervision
continuing professional development
proportionate clinical record-keeping
safeguarding and risk awareness
confidentiality and data protection
collaborative review of therapeutic progress
consultation or referral where appropriate
All therapeutic work is conducted within the practitioner’s training, competence, registration and professional insurance arrangements.
Anna Lyse Consultancy is not an emergency or crisis-response service.

Each practitioner remains accountable to the statutory regulator, accredited register or professional body applicable to their individual profession, role and scope of practice.
Any introduction is subject to the practitioner’s availability, competence, insurance arrangements and suitability for the client’s needs.
Before services begin, the client will be informed of:
the practitioner’s identity and professional role
their registration or accreditation
their contractual relationship with Anna Lyse Consultancy
their fees and payment arrangements
their responsibility for clinical records and confidentiality
the professional standards applicable to their work

Anna Lyse Consultancy may work with a carefully selected network of independent Clinical Associates and allied professionals where a client requires additional or alternative expertise.
Associates are considered according to their:
professional qualifications
registration or professional membership
relevant experience
clinical supervision arrangements
professional indemnity insurance
suitability for the client’s presenting needs
Following the initial clinical assessment, the Principal Consultant may recommend or facilitate an introduction to a suitable Clinical Associate within the Anna Lyse Consultancy professional network.
Any introduction will depend on:
the associate’s availability
the associate’s professional competence
the nature of the client’s needs
the associate’s suitability for the client’s presentation
the practical and financial arrangements available
Where an appropriate Clinical Associate is unavailable, or where the client’s needs may be better supported elsewhere, an alternative independent practitioner or specialist service may be recommended.
A recommendation or introduction does not guarantee that an external professional will accept the referral, have immediate availability or consider their service suitable for the client.
Before information is shared or therapeutic work begins, the proposed arrangement will be explained to the client.
The client will be informed of:
the practitioner’s identity
their professional role
their registration or membership
their fees
their confidentiality arrangements
their responsibility for delivering the service
Each Clinical Associate remains professionally responsible for their own:
clinical judgement
therapeutic work
record-keeping
clinical supervision
professional registration
insurance
ethical practice
The Principal Consultant may provide assessment, referral, allocation or practice-level coordination. This does not replace the individual professional accountability of the practitioner providing therapy.
Personal or clinical information will only be shared with an associate or external professional where there is an appropriate lawful basis and, where required, the client’s informed agreement.
The professional network may include counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, medical practitioners and other appropriately qualified specialists.
Inclusion within the professional network does not mean that every professional is employed directly by Anna Lyse Consultancy or available for every enquiry.
-
